　　The city thrives because of the youth,and the youth and the city grow together.In recent years,Chengdu,by the essence of the new development concept and the form of the park city,has comprehensively promoted the construction of a park city demonstration zone that implements the new development concept,and continuously optimized and strengthened the core functions of a national center city.Besides,Chengdu has accelerated the construction of a modern international metropolis with global influence and reputation in western China,made every effort to participate in the development and construction of the Yangtze River Economic Belt,and work to inject more impetus into the"new Tianfu"hand in hand with the"Yangtze River Delta".On October 16,2020,the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee deliberated and approved the Master Plan for the Construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle in Southwest China,bringing unprecedented development opportunities to Chengdu.Chengdu will focus on the goals of building an important economic center and a science and technology innovation center with nationwide influence,a new highland of reform and opening-up,and a high-quality livable city,to build an important growth pole and a new driving source for high-quality development across the country.Since the beginning of the"14th Five-Year Plan"in 2021,Chengdu has achieved significant upgrading and reform:

　　Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle has been officially established,and Chengdu's potential level in the overall national strategy has sped up to rise;The total economic volume of Chengdu spans eight hundred billion steps,reaching nearly RMB 2 trillion,ranking 7th in the country,leading Hangzhou,Wuhan,and Nanjing;With a permanent population of over 20 million,Chengdu has ranked among mega-cities;Tianfu International Airport has been completed and put into operation,and Chengdu has become the third city with two international hub airports after Beijing and Shanghai;Chengdu ranks the 9th in the"Top 100 Cities of Advanced Manufacturing Industry"and the 1st in the 2022 Business Glamour Ranking among the new first-tier cities...The kicking figure,amazing curve and eye-catching place in the list all show Chengdu's rapid progress as well as indicate Chengdu's promising future,which is worth looking forward to!

　　The prosperity and development of a city cannot be separated from talents,popularity and the will of the people.Chengdu cannot achieve such remarkable achievements without the joint efforts of the millennium city and the world's youth.In April 2020,Chengdu put forward the concept of building a"youth-friendly city",and the organic integration and constructive interactions between youth development and city development,which topped among the sub-provincial cities in China.In June 2021,Chengdu was officially approved as one of the first pilot cities to build a"youth development-oriented city"in the country.Chengdu clearly stated that it would"speed up the building of a youth development-oriented city,so that the vast majority of young people can build and fulfill their dreams in Chengdu".Chengdu will focus on bringing the construction of a youth development-oriented city into the overall strategic deployment of building a park city demonstration zone which fully implements the new development concept.

　　As Chengdu struggles to head for the youth,the youth's affection for Chengdu has reached an unprecedented height.Chengdu has become increasingly attractive to young people in firsttier cities and regions,ranking first in Fortune magazine's list of"Attractive Cities for College Students and Young Job Seekers"at the beginning of this year.Young people come to Chengdu for the comfortable pace of life,for the cultural atmosphere where primitive simplicity meets fashion,for the vast platform for entrepreneurship,for the warm and straightforward people in Chengdu,or for the pandas,the parks and the snow mountains...Young people,full of vigor and vitality,choose and go to this city for different reasons.According to the Report on Youth Development in Chengdu(2022)released in May this year,the permanent population has reached 21.192 million,of which the population of young people aged 14-45 has reached 9.6036 million and the population of"Chengdu drifters"6.8349 million,ranking third in China.Chengdu ranks second in China in terms of the cities where young entrepreneurs are expected to start their own business and fourth in China in terms of the first choice cities for graduates across the country.Chengdu has become a city that young people around the world are longing for.

　　Chengdu and Chengdu youth stand at the historical intersection of the"two centenary goals"and face the future development opportunities and challenges hand in hand.Taking the opportunity of building a youth development-oriented city,Chengdu is actively exploring the way of growing and moving forward together with the youth.On the one hand,Chengdu is firmly committed to the belief of"seeking development to meet the people's pursuit of a better life"and"seizing every minute"to enhance its comprehensive strength,to provide a place for more young people to build and fulfill their dreams.On the other hand,Chengdu pays attention to and respects young people's personal choices,life orientation and career coordinates,growing itself into a city of fashion,a city of"youth cool culture",a city of museums and a city of cultural creativity,which will enhance the young people's sense of identity and belonging,so that young people will grow and advance together with the city and make more outstanding achievements in the city.

　　"There is a sense of humanistic care everywhere in this city,the happiness index continues to rise,and the bright development prospect makes everybody see more possibilities for development",said Su Ye,a post-1995 founder of a media company.He went to college in Chengdu in 2014 and stayed in Chengdu to start his own business.He has been to many cities over the years and still finds Chengdu the most"comfortable"and pleasant.

　　Verses like"the combination of grass,trees,clouds and mountains is like beautiful brocade"and"the window is next to the Xilin hill covered with snow that never melts"are engraved for the historical imprint of Chengdu's great natural scenery and beauty,which contain the boundless vision of thousands of citizens for the park city.As a park city under snow-capped mountains,Chengdu boasts beautiful scenery of rivers,flowers and willows beside bridges everywhere.Nowadays,Chengdu youth are keen on seeing the sunrise in Longquan Mountain,camping in ecological park around the city,and biking on Jincheng Greenway,which are also their most favourable entertainment trip events at weekends.It is not difficult to understand why Zhao Lei's song"walk with me in the streets of Chengdu and don't stop until all the lights are off"constantly titillates people's hearts to stay in Chengdu and don't want to leave as they come to here,and that's why Li Jian said:"To refuse Chengdu is to refuse life".

　　Cozy living,comfortable community,happy shopping,and satisfying quality are now being defined as the city's brightest competitiveness.Chengdu is also fulfilling the young people's aspiration for a better life in its own way.

　　In recent years,Chengdu has continued t o strengthen policy innovation in line with the development strategy of the city and the demand of employers,and promoted the transformation from"1.0 version"of formulating preferential policies to"2.0 version"of building platforms and creating opportunities,and then to"3.0 version"of optimizing platforms and operating the ecosystem,so as to make"Chengdu drifters"stay.

　　However,what attracts young people most to stay in Chengdu is the vitality of this city.Vitality is one of the most vivid labels of the youth.

　　In recent years,Chengdu is rapidly growing into a pearl of fashion,and"cool youth culture"has become a new power for Chengdu.Chengdu almost leads the country in all the fields that the"cool culture",dominated by"rising wave",includes-e-sports,fashion shoes,Han Chinese clothing,fashion play,quadratic element,hiphop,etc.At ordinary times,in the core business district of Chengdu,you can see from time to time girls with high bun,wearing Hanfu,walk with graceful bearing.There are also many young people's communities like"Spicy Swing",a community of free and easy swing dance,and"Overload Comedy",a community of talk shows that are active in every corner of the city.

　　Youth is the most active and vital force in the whole society.In recent years,Chengdu has made great efforts to implement the dream-building project for young people in innovation,entrepreneurship and employment.With the utmost sincerity,it has helped"Chengdu drifters"achieve their value and realize their dreams.More and more young people have taken Chengdu as the preferred place for living in contentment and pursuing their dreams."Migration","taking root"and"success"have gradually become the connotations and labels of"Chengdu drifters".

　　Guo Liang,a 37-year-old man,describes himself as a"Chengdu drifter"entrepreneur.Born in Ya'an,he grew up fascinated by airplanes.Later,he was admitted to Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics,specializing in aircraft design.In 2015,he completed successive undergraduate,postgraduate and doctoral programs of study and went to Chengdu to realize his"dream of blue sky".He founded Sichuan Aossci Technology Co.,Ltd.,dedicated to the research and development of open-source unmanned systems,industrial-grade UAV platforms,and educational UAVs.

　　"Chengdu's aerospace sector is an industrial highland that China has lack in,"said Guo Liang.Chengdu's highly efficient and positive entrepreneurial environment is the most powerful thing that attracts the young"Chengdu drifters"and a new business card of Chengdu.

　　The fact also proved that Guo Liang had made a very correct choice.During the years of entrepreneurship,the flight performance of a series of UAVs that he led his team in developing leads the world.He is now President and Chief Scientist of Aerofugia,and has obtained many honours:Innovative and Entrepreneurial Talents of the Ministry of Science and Technology in 2017;the winner of the May 4th Medal for Sichuan Youth in 2021...

　　In recent years,Chengdu has accelerated the construction of a science and technology innovation center with important national influence.As of May 2022,12 national key laboratories,216 national-level innovation platforms,five national-level innovative and entrepreneurial demonstration bases and 74 national-level incubation platforms have been gathered i n Chengdu.This fertile land for innovation and entrepreneurship provides the best soil and development space for the growth of"Chengdu drifters".Chengdu offers allround services to those who are willing to take root here,bringing together all kinds of talents,including scientists,college students,"new profession"couriers,take-away deliverymen,and foreigners from all over the world.

　　In order to achieve these"small wishes"and"big dreams",the Chengdu Communist Youth League has made great efforts to improve the policy and service system for youth priority development,and built a"one-stop"service platform for youth innovation and entrepreneurship,providing all factor services such as carrier,finance and tutors to young people.More than 950 incubation carriers have been launched and more than 6,500 youth innovation projects have been incubated.The upgraded"Chengdu Drifters Youth Talent Post"provides 7-day free accommodation for young college students who come from other places and seek jobs in Chengdu.Since 2017,the Post has served around 70,800 needs from young college students in total...

　　Under the belief of"handling concrete affairs for the youth and resolving their worries with sincerity",Chengdu strives to help the youth solve the problems they are most concerned about,such as job hunting after graduation,innovation and entrepreneurship,and love and marriage.Chengdu gives priority to youth development and strives to optimize the seven major environments of planning,education,employment,housing,life,health and safety.It works to improve the policies and service systems,so as to make the city more friendly to the youth.

　　I n recent years,the Chengdu Communist Youth League has deeply understood the development situation of young people from all walks of life in Chengdu,grasped the realistic demand,and accurately"portrayed"for Chengdu youth.The 2021 Research Report o n Youth Development of"Chengdu Drifters"and Report on Youth Development in Chengdu(2022)were released this year.These two reports provide important reference for further improving the policies and service system for the youth development.

　　According to the reports,the population of"Chengdu drifters"reaches 6.8349 million,of which the proportion of young people aged 14-45 from other provinces is relatively high.The reports drew such a portrait for the young people in Chengdu:Among the group aged 14-45,there are 4.4972 million people with junior college degree or above;young people are the main force in the high-skilled talent team.By the end of 2020,the total number of new occupational groups ranked second in the country;More than 80%of young entrepreneurs are under 37 years old,and the entrepreneurial field closely follows the dimensions of"building circle and strong chain"of industry...This portrait fully illustrates the importance of young talents for the future of a city.

　　In Chengdu,the struggle stories of"Chengdu drifters"are constantly verifying this view.

　　He Dawei and Pan Siming both graduated from the Department of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering at Tsinghua University,and worked in Silicon Valley after obtaining a doctoral degree in the United States.In 2016,they set up ConvenientPower Wireless Technology Co.,Ltd.in Chengdu,whose receiving and transmitting chips have reached the international advanced level in some parameters.

　　In 2010,Lin Shuwei,coming from Fujian,settled in Chengdu because he"wanted to live a stable life".Over the past decade,he has researched Sichuan cuisine,and gradually grown into a high-end hotel executive chef.He served as the chef of international banquets for G20 Summit.At the same time,he also witnessed and participated in the development process of high-end hotel catering in the south of the city.Lin Shuwei also wants to contribute to the protection of Sichuan cuisine culture."I want to build a training platform for high-tech talents in the catering industry,set up a window to showcase Sichuan cuisine culture,and strengthen the innovation ability and core competitiveness of Sichuan cuisine".

　　Relying on Chengdu's"cornerstone",scientific and technical worker Guo Liang's path to entrepreneurship is also becoming wider.He and his team have proposed a Chinese solution for low altitude travel,and have made Chengdu"world-leading"in China's aviation industry,especially in the UAV industry.In fact,aerospace and other advanced manufacturing industries are the focus of Chengdu during the"14th Five-Year Plan"period.
